AUCKLAND J. C. AUTUMN MEETING. [By Telegraph.] AUCKLAND, April 22. The Autumn Meeting took place today at Ellerslic. There was a moderate attendance, but large numbers of bookmakers and owners of games of chance from all parts of the colony were present. One totalizator was working on the course, ane Mr Franck, who in high dudgeon refused the Club’s terms, placed bis tent adjacent to the raceconrse in Ellerslic Garden. The, totalizators were poorly patronised,, and little betting was clone. Two accidents occurred. In the Hurdle Race' Tom Finn broke his log, and had to boshot. In the Autumn Handicap, Malvern’s rider had his leg broken through being carried against a post, and otherwise injured. The following are the events : Tradesmen’s Handicap, of 50sovs; distance, 1 mile. Mr Smith’s Maid of Honor 1 Mr Iloisfali’s Ratcatcher 2 Mr Keith’s Soukar 3 Time—lmin. ISsecs. Ellerslie Plate, of 100 sovs.; second horse 20 sovs. out of stakes. Hilarious 1 Kenilworth 3 Tim Whiffler 3 Time —Imin. 12sccs. Hurdle Pace, handicap of 50 sovs. ; 2.\ miles, over eight Rights of hurdles. Grey Momus ... 1 Harkaway 3 Har.ll 3 Time —bmiu. 51 secs. Autumn Handicap, of 100 sovs. Yatapa 1 Libeller _ ... 2 King Quail ... 3 Novel Handicap, of 50 sovs. Cunlident ... I Luna ... ... ... 2. Barney... ... ... & Publicans’ Purse, of GO sovs ; 1 mile;.
