Christchurch, This Day. During the last few days more enquiries have been made for grass seed. Cocksfoot is now quoted at 3d to Ijd per lb. Eye grass, well-dressed, 3s to 3s Gel per bushel. Potatoes are easier, and are now quoted at 2s Od lower. One lot of 100 tons was sold yesterday for 27s Od per ion, deli me 1 here. The Te Anau takes a large quantity to Sydney. Messrs Leary and Campbell report as follows Apples, 8s to Os per case ; pears, 10s per case; grapes, 7s to 8s per case; quinces, 7s to 8s per case ; oranges, 10s 6d to 11s per case ; walnuts, lOd to lO.Id; eggs, 2s fid to 2s !)d; fowls, 3s !)d per pair ; ducks, 4s 3d per pair; salt butter, 8d per lb; fresh butter, pats in pieklo, 101 J to Is ; onions, os to 7s per cwt; potatoes, 00s ; cheese, Od; hams, Is per lb ; bacon, Did to 11 Id per lb; feed.barley, 3s; feed wheat, Is; chaff, f 4 ; mai/.0, 3s 0d to Is; cocksfoot, -Id per lb; rye, 4s 3d; Hawkins’ lib jams, (is fid. MELBOURNE PRODUCE MARKET. Messrs J. IT. Clough and Co. report, under date April 14 ; Wheat. —A decline in the English market of Is Od to 2s per quarter having been 'telegraphed (equivalent to nearly 3d per bushel), its effect was noticeable in our local market to-day. As compared with last week values aie Id to 2d per bushel lower, and we quote smutty and interior 3s Id to 4s Id, medium to good 4s 2d to 4s 4d, good milling and shipping. 4s 5d t’o 4s (ild, slightly better prices being obtainable for small lots of seed. Barley.—This grain does not show much activity, feeding is worth from 2s 2d to 2s scl ; in malting we sold 151 bags to-day at 5s lid which is now a dull figure. Oats. —A fair business is being done hut there is no special movement to. notice. Feeding oats have been sold at from 2s to. 2s 3d, milling, 2s Id to 2s 7d.
