Our own correspondent writes: —One line of 10,000 bushels oats were placed to-day at Is 3d. There is very little doing worth recording, and prices have a downward tendency. Business is likely to continue dull until present stocks on hand arc somewhat worked off. I saw a letter this morning, per Tararua, from Melbourne, dated April 5, in which the writer advises that owing to timely rains there -will be a very large crop of potatoes. At present the Victorian buyers are only offering farmers £1 2s 6d per ton. He quotes oats of good milling quality at Is 3d ; barley, malting, really good, up to 5b 6d, The grass seed market is glutted, and no quotations are given. Dunedin, This day.

Wheat.—The market has • been less buoyant during’ the week. Merchants are purchasing only sufficient to cover immediate.trade requrements. Oats.—Prime thin-skinned; short samples lor milling have been in request during the week, both for local consumption and for export, and such can be placed at Is 6d per bushel. Feed oats are moving off sloAvly at Is sd.

Barley is in moderate supply, with no sale. :

Potatoes. Prime Derwents fetched £3 per ton ; -white potatoes, 32s fid. Quotations ateWheat,' prime milling, 4s to 4s 2d; medium, Bs lOd to 4s ; inferior and fowls* feed, Ss to 3a fid. Oats, prime milling, Is 6d; ditto feed, Is 4d to Is sd. Barley, nominal, 3s to 4s. Btan, £3 per ton. Bye grass, 3s to 4s per bushel. Potatoes, best Derwents, £3. per ton.
