[Per “Times” Special Wire.] . Auckland Items. Auckland, March 30. —J. 11. Filing, the turfite, charged with fraudulently obtaining money has been further remanded.
There is no sign of the mail steamer. Mr Hurst addresses the City West tonight. Colbeck announces meetings in various parts of Marsden. Civil Service Commission. Invercargill, March 30.—The Civil Service Commission arrived last night. They proceed to Queenstown, where they begin the inquiry. Accidentally Shot. Eohert Curtis, ten years old, son of Mr Curtis, of the Temperance Hotel, was accidentally shot yesterda3 r . He had gone out by train to visit some relatives, and, on finding they had left, returned to the railway platform nearer town. While waiting there he was shot as stated. It is not yet known by whom the fatal shot was fired, but two boys were in the vicinity, and will be examined on the subject.
