ELECTORAL.
[TO THE EDITOR.] Sir, —I am anxious to register myself as an elector of the district of Tiinaru, but there is one point upon which I am not quite clear, and if you would kindly enlighten me I should feel much obliged. The point is simply this :—The “ of Electors Act 18/9,” in the residential qualification clause, provides for a twelve month’s residence within the colon} 1 - of New Zealand on the part of claimants, and a residence of six months within the particular district on the electoral roll of which it is desired to be placed. Now sir, what I want to know is—docs the Act fix aivy particular period of the year during which persons may register or can such be effected at any time during the twelve months ? In 1113'' own case I have been man} r years in the eolonjg but only three months in Tiinaru. Now can I register three months hence, or will I have to wait till next 3 r car? By kindly answering this you will oblige, amongst others, yours, Ac., X.Y.Z. Tiinaru, March 29, 1880. [The Registration of Electors Act enables colonists who possess the requisite qualifications, to send in their claims for enrolment at any time during the } r car. — Eu. S.C Times.]
