He was an entire stranger to the girls present, and the young men were mean, and would not introduce him. He finally plucked up courage, and, stepto a young lady, requested the pleasure o£ her company for the next dance. She looked at him in surprise, and informed him that she had not had the pleasure of his acquaintance. “Well,” remarked he “you don’t run any more risk than I do.”
