[Reuter’s Agency.] Floods in Australia. Sydney, Feb. 21. —Serious floods have occurred in the Richmond River. The streets of Casino are completely submerged, and boats arc engaged in saving the lives and property of the inhabitants. A Fall in Coal. Newcastle, Feb. 24. —It is reported that the colliery proprietors now working under the vend scheme intend to reduce the wages of the men and the prices of coal by 25 per cent, in order that they may be in a position to compete with the collieries not bound by the vend rules.
