Distance, 1 mile. RULES AND REGULATIONS. Nominations for the Timaru Cup, Flying Handicap, S.G.J.G. Handicap, Hurdle Race, and Winter Oats Handicap to be made to the Secretary not later than Tuesday, .March 23, at 8 p.m. Weights to be out Thursday, April 1. Acceptances, Avith sweep and general entries, up to 8 p.m, on Monday, April 5. All entries and acceptances must be in sealed covers, addressed to the Secretary, Grosvenor Hotel, 'Timaru, and contain entrance money, SAveepstakcs, ipialifiction fee, description, ago, and name of horse, and colors to be worn by the jockey. Qualification fee to be enclosed Avith the nomination, or the nomination Avill bo invalid. South Canterbury Jockey Club Rules will be strictly adhered to. In Hurdle Races horses to qualify by Jumping hurdle past judge’s box. The Club has adopted the Victorian new scale of weight for age, No person to enter a horse unless he is a subscriber of £2 2s to the fund, and no person to nominate unless both oAvner and nominator be subscribers of the same amount. In the event of any person entering a protest, the sum of £2 2s must be lodged Avith the Secretary before such protest is considered, this sum to bo forfeited to the funds should the Stewauls consider the protest fiivolous or vexatious. The decision of the SteAvards to be final in all cases. Five per cent. Avill be deducted from the gross of all monies paid, in accordance Avith the programme, for expenses ; and Avhcn not othcnvisc specified, all entries and acceptances to go to the funds. J. R.
