All entries and acceptances must be in scaled covers, addressed to the Secretary, Orosvenor Motel, Timaru, and contain entrance money, sAvecpstakes, qualifiction fee, description, age, and name of horse, and colors to be Avorn hy the jockey. Qualification fee to be enclosed Avith the nomination, or the nomination will he invalid. South Canterbury Jockey Club Buies will be strictly adhered to. In Hurdle Baces horses to qualify by Jumping hurdle past judge’s box. The Club has adopted the Victorian new scale of weight for age, No person to enter a horse unless he is a subscriber of £2 2s to the fund, and no person to nominate unless both owner and nominator he subscribers of the same amount. In the event of any person entering a protest, the sum of £2 2s must he lodged with the Secretary before such protest is considered, this sum to he forfeited to the funds should the Stewards consider the protest frivolous or vexatious. The decision of the Stewards to he final in all cases. Five per cent, will be deducted from the gross of all monies paid, in accordance with the programme, for expenses ; and when not otherwise specified, all entries and acceptances to go to the funds. All objections thereto must he left at the office of the Ngav Zealand Meat Preserving Company at the Washdyke on or before Feb. 15, addressed to the Assessment Court; and a copy of every such objection mast be left at tbe Poad Board OJlicc, Timaru, not less than seven days before the next sitting of tbe said Court.
