MAIL NOTICES
Mails close at the Chief Post office, Timaru, for the following places (subject to the necessary alteration), as under: — Saturday, Feu 14.
For Northern Ports of New Zealand, per Penguin, at 2.10 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 12.
For the United Kingdom, via Colombo and Brindisi, the Australian colonies, India, Africa, China, Continent of Europe, and the Mediterranean ports, at 12,45 a.m.
For money orders and registered letters, at 11.45 a.m.
Late fee letters, bearing one additional rate per letter, will be received at the Chief Post Office till 1 p.m., at the Railway Travelling Post Office Mail Van (Southern express train), till 1.24 p.m. N.B.—The mail via Southampton, has been discontinued, and all correspondence intended to be forwarded by the above route must be specially addressed. The European portion of the above mails will be due in London on April 1.
Mails close at Timaru:— For Christchurch and intermediate offices, daily at 6 a.m., 2.10 p.m., and 4.20 p.m. For Dunedin and intermediate offices, daily at G a.m., 12.55 p.m., and 4 p.m. For Pleasant Point, Cave, and Albury, daily at 6 a.m., and Pleasant Point and Albury at 3 p.m. For Mackenzie Country, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, at 6 a.m. Mails arrive at Timaru From Christchurch and intermediate offices, daily at 10.15 a.m. and 1.10 p.m. From Ashburton and intermediate offices, daily at 7.20 p.m. From Dunedin and intermediate offices, daily at 10.45 a.m. and 2.30 p.m.
From Oamaru and intermediate offices, daily at 7.40 p.m. From Pleasant Point, Albury, and Washdyke, daily at 11.5 a.m. From Pleasant Point, Cave, and Albury, daily at 7.35 p.m. From Mackenzie Country, Tuesdays, and Saturdays at 7.45 a.m. W.
