Owing to continued wet last year, sheep rot is extremely prevalent, especially in the Midland and IVestern counties. 10,000, chiefly ewes, are dead and dying. In a part of Oxford, Warwick, Somerset, and Gloucester, a small portion only is left. It is stated that it is expected that a large number of the lambing ewes will succumb. It is becoming a matter of serious consideration to wool growers. Sydney mutton sold to-day at oh to 6d; beef 41 to sd. Beef is not drawing so quickly asitis somewhat injured. Horae beef averages 6jd. American beef is the same as Australian. American mutton is sd.
