MAIL NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Post office, Timaru, for the following places (subject to the necessary alteration), as under : Friday, Feb. G. For Northern Ports of New Zealand, New South Wales, and Queensland, per Wakatipu, at G a.m. Saturday, Feb. 7. For Northern Ports of New Zealand, per Hawea, at 2.15 p.m.; On and after Monday, Feb 2, the following alterations will be made in the despatch mails from the Chief Post Office, Timaru: Mails per Express for Dunedin and intermediate offices will close at 12.55 p.m. instead of 1.50 p.m. For Christchurch and intermediate offices at 2.15 and -1.20 p.m. instead of 1.50 and 3.45 p.m. All other mails will be despatched as usual. Mails arrive from Christchurch at 12.50 and 6.40 will arrive at 1.4 p.m. and 7.15 p.m. Mails arriving from Dunedin and South at 2 p.m. will arrive at 2.23 p.m. W, W. Beswick, Acting Chief Postmaster.
