WELLINGTON SUMMER MEETING. WELLINGTON, Feb. 3. This morning Walters’ and Vallance’s horses worked on the beach. Mr Walters was present, and gave Hippocampus and Libeller a sharp canter for a mile and d half, after which they both started together to galop the same distance. Hippocampus pulled over the colt all the way, and finished three lengths ahead, going in good form as far as could be seen. The weights were the same as in the handicap. Lara had two gallops of a mile and a half with Templeton, finishing a length ahead each time. Hailstorm did a steady two miles in clothing. On the course Norseman did two miles inSmin 54secs. and Magnolia in 3min. 58secs. Chancellor went the Cup distance with Laertes, the former coming home well in front. Soukar went three quarters at a gallop, and cantered two miles. York, Sinking Fund, and Pinfire are unlikely starters.
