TIMARU BOROUGH COUNCIL

The above Council met last evening. Present —His Worship the Mayor (in tlio chair), and Crs. Jones, Bruce, Gibbon, and Gabitcs. The minutes of the previous meeting Avere read and coullnucd.

Correspondence Avas read from Mr Chisholm in reference to a summerhouse in bis garden. Resolved that the application of Mr Chisholm re summerhouse be granted, subject to its removal on notice being given.

From the HeA r Father Cbataigncr, asking that the building regulations in connection Avitii the boys’ school about to bo erected in Brmvn-stroet be modified. It Avas resolvt-d to grant the request.

From the Geraldine County Council, asking for a refund of all fees received for the registration of dogs. Resolved that the resolution bearing no signature from the Geraldine Council be allowed to lay on the table. On the application of Mr Austin Kirby, section ] (37 was transferred from Mr W. Grant to himself. The tender of Mr 0. W. Cowburn for the erection of a new pump in Heatonstrect Avas accepted. Some discussion then took place regarding the Borough loan. Ultimately

it Avas resolved that the AVorks Committee be authorised to prepare debentures and necessary documents re the £OO,OOO loan. Accounts amounting to £sl 2s Gd wore passed for payment, and the meeting adjourned.
