Mails close at the Chief Post office, Timaru, for the following places (subject to the necessary alteration), as under: — Saturday, Jan. 17. For Northern ports of New Zealand, per Hawea, at 1.50 p.m. The next mail for the United Kingdom via San Francisco will close at the Chief Post office on Saturday, Jan 31, and will be due in London on March 16, 1880. N.B. —A receiving office (for letters) has been established at Mrs Crickmore’s Store, corner of Grey road and Church street, which will be cleared at 8.15 a.m. and 3.15 p.m. daily (Sunday’s excepted.) W. W. Beswick, Acting Chief Postmaster. Chief Post Office, Timaru, Jan. 10, 1880.
