MAIL NOTICES.

Mails close at the Chief Post office, Timaru, fertile following places (subject to the necessary alteration), as under Thursday, Jan. 15. For Northern ports of New Zealand, per Arawata, at 6 a.tn. For the United Kingdom via Brindisi and via Southampton, Australian Colonies, the Continent of Europe, India, Afica, China, and the Mediterranean Ports, at 12.30 p.m. Money orders and' registered letters at 11.30. a.m. Late fee letters bearing one additional rate per letter will be received at the Chief Post office till 12.50 p.m., and at the Railway Travelling Post Office Mail Van (southern express train) till 1.12 p.m. Correspondence intended to bo forwarded by the above routes must be specially addressed. ’ N.B. —The New Zealand “ Postal Guide, January issue, may now be obtained at the Chief Post office. Friday, Jan. 16. For Chatham Islands per Omaha, at 3.45 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17. For Northern ports.of New Zealand, per Hawea, at 1.50 p.m. The next mail for the United Kingdom via San Francisco will close at the Chief Post office on Saturday,'Jan 31, and will be due in London on March 16, 1880. N.B.—A receiving office (for has been established at Mrs Crickmore’s Store, corner of Grey road and Church street', which will be cleared at 8.15 a.m. and 3.15 p.m. daily (Sunday’s excepted.) W. W.
