Sympathy with Murder.
Sydney, Jan. 5. —A petition has boon signed in favor of commuting the sentence of death passed upon Scott and Rogan the Wantahadgcry bushrangers. The execution of the prisoners is fixed for the 20 tli.

Melbourne, Jan. s.—The Insurance Companies, including several New Zealand offices, have presented Mr Bolt with a purse of sovereigns, in recognition of her bravery in assisting to navigate the Moorhurg.
|Cup Entries.
The total entries for the Australian Cup are thirty-seven, all high class. Swenty-eight entries have been received in Melbourne for the Sydney Cup.
The Wrong-side of the Eedger.
Brisbane, Jan. 5. —The revenue of the colony derived last quarter amounts to £311,000, being a decrease of £37,000 compared with last year. The actual expenditure shows an increase of £13,000.
