CRIMINAL SESSIONS.

DUNEDIN—THIS DAY,
(Before His Honor Judge Williams)
The Eev Arthur Graves (an exclergyman) was convicted of forging the name of the Yen. Archdeacon Edwards to an acceptance, and sentenced to two years’ imprisonment. Denis Anglin was convicted of perjury, and sentenced to three years’ imprisonment. Yo hills were returned against the lads Thoms and Stafford, charged with arson at Otaria. The Grand Jury have been discharged.
CHRISTCHURCH—YESTERDAY.
Young Pillow, who attempted a few weeks ago to come in the role of the Kellys, pleaded guilty to the charges both of larceny and attempted highway robbery, for which he received one year and four years’ penal servitude the sentences to be cumulative. David Grubb, a post-office clerk, got eighteen months for stealing three letters from the Office. Roderick McLenuon, from Napier, received two years’ hard labor for forgery. THIS DAY,
The following sentences were passed this morning:— John Anderson, stealing a watch, from Christ’s College, 18 months.
James Wells, assault with intent, 18 months.
