[Reuter’s Agency.] MELBOURNE, Dec. 9- __ Mr Berry stated in the Assembly that the Ministry had recommended the Governor to dissolve Parliament, and that the Marquis of Normanby had accepted the recommendation unconditionally, and will grant a dissolution before Christmas. A large majority of the Upper House are adverse to the Counsel’s opinion that the Government Reform Bill should be sent to the Legislative Council. The Melbourne “Daily Telegraph” case was nonsuited, the Court of Appeal deciding that the Corporation were unable to sue for slander. SYDNEY, Dec. 9. No prizes were awarded to New Zealand exhibits at the cattle show. Mr Maclean’s Duke of Newcastle wa« commended. The trial of the bushrangers was adjourned until to-morrow. HOBARTOWN, Dec. 9. The Rotomahana reached here at •ight o’clock on Thursday morning, Go hours from the Bluff, having averaged 14<5 knots during the passage. She experienced a head gale for the last 24 hours.
