Was one of the fastest and most constant horses over any distance that ever performed on the New Zealand turf, and as a proof of his soundness and constitution that from two years old to six he was scarcely ever out of work. TO STAND THIS SEASON, AND TRAVEL WAIMATE, OTAIO, AND PAREORA DISTRICTS. The Imported Clydesdale Horse. KING OF THE RING. SIRE —Kilbowie. is a pure-bred Clydesdale, rising eight years old, of splendid symmetry and action. He is by old Surprise which was first as a two-year-old at Johnston Cambusling, Ac., and twice gained the prize for the best stallion at the Glasgow Society's Shows to travel in the district. He also gained the Highland Saeiety’s first prize at Inverness, and other prizes to travel as a stallion. Kilbowie’s dam also gained many prizes. Kilbowie gained the firstatDrymen, as a two-year-old and first at Stirlingshire Shows. Kilbowie was purchased from the well-known breeder, M. David Riddel, Kilbowie, and has been purchased by the Governor of late, at a high price. Pedigree —King of the Ring is a beautiful bay, rising five years and six months old by Kilbowie, bred by John Teethewie, Esq., and is one of the best grown colts of his age in the colonies ; he is a fine bay, standing 17 hands high, with immense bone and substance. His dam, Blossom, by Lincolnshire Hero, imported by R. Kermodc, Esq., was winner of eleven first prizes. Grand dam Darby, by Black Champion, imported by Clark, Esq., gg dam Prince imported by J. W. King of the King is acknowledged by the best of judges to be the grandest cart colt of his age in the colonies, and is full of the best blood in the world, and will, without doubt, make a line breeder of cart stock. King of the Ring has been first twice Midland and Hobart Town.
