MELBOURNE, Dec. 4. Mr Munro’s re-election has a demoralising effect on Government supporters, His amendment on the Reform Bill, proposing the substitution of a provision resembling the Council’s Bill, is likely to he largely supported. Dec. 5, Mr Berry failed to obtain the necessary statutory majoftt7 _ for,,the Reform Bill, which is therefore lost. Three Oppositionists were unable to vole. There was almost a free fight in the Assembly, the Government having captured -a member who had promised to vote with the Opposition. SYDNEY, Dec. 4 Members of the Church of England are taking steps to petition Parliament against the withdrawal of State aid from church schools.
