COMMERCIAL.
Times Office, Monday Evening. Messrs. Jonas, Hart and Wildie report;— Fat Cattle Are in good supply with rates ruling at from 22s Od to 25s per 1001 b. A few lots have changed hands at prices averaging not more than 20s per 1001 b. Sheep—We have sold 700 merino ewes in the wool at 6s 3d. Horses —The demand is limited, we have sold plough horses privately at £lO each. Wool, Skins, Hides, Ac. —Our sale on Friday last was well attended. There were catalogued 10 bales wool, 900 skins, and 11 hides, and the prices obtained were as fob lows :—Cross-bred wool, s£d to 51 d ; halfbred do, s£d to 6£d; merino, 6d to Old; cross-brcds skins, 2s, 2s 3d, 2s 7d, 2s lOd, to 4s ; merino, 3s 8d to 4s 2d ; hides, 21d to 3d jier lb.
Maclean and Stewart report for the past fortnight as follows : Cattle —There is a considerable demand for store cattle at present, chiefly owing to the abundance of feed, but the scarcity of money prevents to a great degree, business being done. Fat Sheep : Good wethers are worth 8s to 9s and Gd or equal to about 2d per lb,
Horses —The demand for draught horses is still limited, and unless for very good sorts, low prices have to be taken.
Wool and Skins—Several small lots have changed hands. For good merino and halfbred fleece wool, from -Id to 5d has been obtained. Good cross-bred skins have been sold at 3s 3d; medium, 2s to 2s 4d. Property—We ha ve to report the sale of another three sections of the Seadown property, consisting in all about 600 acres, at for £l3 to £l3 10s per acre. There arc only a few of the sections remaining unsold and these are expected to be placed within the next few days. Messrs Palmer and Collins report holding their regular weekly sale of farm produce, and general merchandise. The fol-
lowing are the prices obtained for the different lines quitted during the day. Derwent potatoes, £fi 10s per ton ; fowls corn, 8s (id per sack; fat lamb, 4s to 4s fid per side; farmer’s flour, £l2 per ton; poultry, none offering; bacon, fid to 7d. A quantity of of groceries, furniture, and sundries were moved off at satisfactory rates. TELEGRAPHIC. London, Nov. 28. At the wool sales to-day, 9031 bales were catalogued. There is a speculative demand. Combings, washed, scoured, and cross-bred, shew 3d to 4d advance.
