GREAT DIAMOND ROBBERY IN ROTTERDAM.
The Dutch papers announce that a daring burglary was committed a few nights since upon the premises of Mynherr van Boon, jeweller and diamond merchant, in Rotterdam. The burglars obtained an entrance by forcing tbe cellar-flap of the premises in Kipstraat, and thence descending into the basement they proceeded leisurely to complete their operations. They _ broke through to the shop floor, and in the course of their proceedings they came into contact with a large chest, out of which they had to force the lower panels before they could obtain entrance to the shop. Onco there they had but few difficulties to contend with, and they soon managed to ransack two boxes of their contents, and to appropriate the jewellery. The booty thus obtained consisted of diamond earrings, studs, lockets, and rings in bright and colored gold, and other precious stones, sapphires, amethysts, rubies, &c. ’, a lot of colored gold bijouterie with cameos, gold chains, &0., the value of which is estimated at about 200,060 florins. The burglars loft behind them a large quantity of tools consisting of saws, augers, and gimlets, which were apparently of English manufacture, and bore signs of having been much used. The unfortunate jeweller has offered a reward of 3000 florins for tho discovery of tho offenders and the recovery of the goods.
