There was a large attendance at the races to-day, the Governor being present. The racing was good. The following are the results : —■ The Maribyrnong Plate, a _ sweepstakes of 30 soys, b. ft. with 500 added. For two year olds —colts, Bst 10lb; fillies, Bst slb. The second horse to receive 100 sovs, and the third 30 sovs out of the stake. Five fuiioags. Palmyra 1 Otira 7 g Geraldine )

The field was large, and Otira and Geraldine ran a dead heat for second place. The Victoria Derby —A sweepstake of 25 sovs each, sft, ivith 500 added. For three year olds —colts, Bst 101 b; fillies, Bst’slb. The second horse to receive 50sors, and the third 25 sovs, out of the stake. One mile aud a half. Suwarrow ... ... ... 1 Belladrum 2 Rivalry ... ... ... 3 Thirteen horses started, and the race was won by a length. Time —2min 43sec. Suwarrow, by Snowden from Pbizgig, was twice returned a winner as a two year old, lie having beaten Zambesi, Conservative, and others in the Junior Stakes at Ararat, and galloped home in front for the Winter Handicap at Geelong. Lc Loup ran in the Melbourne Stakes, and finished third. It was a very bad start.
