Perfect weather for Turoa opening

Over 3000 eager skiers and boarders enjoyed perfect weather conditions at Turoa on their opening weekend. "The last storm gave us sufficient snow to open for skiing on two main trails on the upper mountain, as well as to haVe facilities available for advanced beginners," Turoa's customer services manager Hamish McPherson. Snow-making has supplemented natural snow on the beginners area which has

been open since Thursday. Turoa's groomers have worked continuously for the last week moving snow to form the trails on the upper mountain. "With the weather forecast to stay clear and cairn for the next couple of days, we are looking forward to the holidays getting underway. It's great to have everyone up here enjoying the sun and snow." Half-day rates for lift passes (adults $39, youth $20) will apply from Monday, 7 July.
