Special funds
Special Ruapehu District Council funds totalling $570,000 are to be absorbed into the council's general funds. Councillors decided at their June meeting to scrap the 'Plant Purchase and Renewal fund' which amounted to $536,000 and the 'Housing and Property' fund which was $34,000. Other special funds are to remain in place, which are: Reserve Contributions ($167,000); Roading Con-' tributions ($24,000); ECNZ Stratford Huntly ($112,000); ECNZ Whanganui River ($20,400).
