Rates scream
With regard to Ruapehu District Council's act ing chief executive Chris Ryan's reply to my
letter of 1/ June 1997, 1 note Mr Ryan does not deny that the council are wasting ratepayers' money with over-runs that no one seems to be accountable for, and flawed roading methods. Further, Mr Ryan suggests my figures are arbitrary. Could I ask Mr Ryan to publish the exact figures of ratepayers money spent for the 7km, from my house? I suggest that if t^e chief executive had an employee who unaccountably wasted $200,000 plus of his personal money, he would probably scream the roof down.
