Lamb prices

Prices at last week's Raetihi lamb sale were pleasing and compared well with other saies in the region. Top price for the day was for a pen from John Journeaux's property, at $50.20. Lambs went for $43-$49.20 and ram lambs managed $43.70 to $45. There were 3 1 good framed black faced lambs that sold for $38.70. A small pen of lightweight wethers gained $33 and others made $43.50, with the range of m/s lambs making $30 to $38. There was a small yarding of cattle up for auction with a pen of 2&1/2 year olds fetching $365. Some cows made $315 and a good bullock went under the hammer for $562.
