Ron Martin and Heather Cranston won the North - South competition at bridge on Wednesday with 57.50%, but after handicapping dropped back to 48.58% to finish in second. First place after handicapping went to Pauline Le Noel and Gordon Mottram with 60.83 having being promoted up from second. John and Sandra Eades took out third place with 43.23%. Tracy Ennis and Bill Te Karu were too good for their East-West competition winning with 60.89% (68.75). Lauretta Eades and Elaine Goldfinch came up from third to take second place with a score of 5 1 .50% (4 1 .67) while Ron Frew and Brian Eades managed to stay in contention with 45.38%, despite their massive 15.04 point handicap.
