Race tips from visiting swim coach
Swimmers from the competitive squad of the Waiouru IceBreakers spent a Sunday recently at a workshop at Burns Pool under the tutelage of full-time swimming coach Andrew Nichols from Palmerston
North' s West End Aquatics Centre. Focusing on pre-race and race strategies, the group practised 'skill, drills and techniques' forsevenhours". "I' m here to help the club raise their level of aware-
ness and to help them (the swimmers) on their way," said Mr Nicholls, who is well-qualified to offer swimming instruction. The club is currently training for championships held in July and August.
