Waimarino Adult Riding Club AGM report
The Annual General Meeting of the Waimarino Adult Riding Club was held on Wednesday 1 1 June at Christine Tarrant's residence with an attendance of 10 members. The president's report was tabled showing a very busy year and the financial statemerit showed expenses are being covered so subscriptions remain at $15 per person forthe 1996/97 season. Office bearers also remain the same, president Mrs E Cooper, vice president Mr J Marama, secretary and treasurer Mrs A Maru. Committee members are all those present plus apologies. Jenny Gardner was presented with her Riding and Road Safety Certificate and Joanne Marama (who was unable to be present) was named as the recipient of the president's award for her services, dedication and efficiency in helping with the North Island team event. An ordinary meeting followed with the next rally to be on Saturday 12 July at the Waiouru Saddle Club grounds with instruction and a short ride. In August a trek will be organised. There was much discussion about the coming North Island Team Event and it is hoped to enter two teams, the second being a composite one with Te Aroha Riding Club. Quadrille practices by correspondence could be interesting. A brief video was shown of the training weekend at Pauatahanui with Jeanette Garrett on Queens Birthday weekend and a preview of the video of the Great New Zealand Trail ride held last March with a promise of a full showing at the next meeting. This will be held on Thursday 10 July at 7.30pm at Helene Godfrey's residence. Evelyn Cooper and Jenny Kinloch will represerit the club at the National New Zealand Riding Club Annual General Meeting on Saturday 14 June in Otorohanga.
