Library inter-loan fee reversed

The council libraries inter-loan fee will be reinstated at $ 1 per book, until the matter has been debated as part of the draft annual plan process, advises acting chief executive Chris Ryan. Mr Ryan said in a press release that the council had noted a concern from an interest group in T aumarunui about "the appropriateness of the recent increase in this charge". "While the issue is a small one in terms of service level and budget impact it is appropriate that this debate be considered as part of the draft annual plan process under way at the present time," he stated. "This will give council the opportunity to examine the issues in full, hear all the interested paries' views and make an informed decision."
