Bridge

Bridge on Wednesday 2 1 May consisted of 20 boards played over five tables, the numbers attending being boosted by the welcome return of Rose Martin and Fiona Brown. Rose and Fiona teamed up together and were really unluckyjiot to win the eastwest competition missing out by just .43% to Lauretta Eades and Pauline Le Noel who finished with 58.43%. Third place east-west went to Jim Cranston and Margaret Cornwall who scored 55.90% although they were second equal before handicapping. Handicapping played a big part in the final northsouth results with Ron Frew and Brian Eades' severe handicap of -15.92 points seeing them go from first with 62.50% down to third with 46.58%. Conversely Betty Hammond and Rita Kaiwhare went from third place to first finishing with a score of 55.79% Ron Martin and Heather Cranston retained second place north-south with a score of 52.48%.
