Police call for help to find attacker

. Ohakune police are investigating a complainant that at about 1 ,20am on Thursday morning, 22 May, a woman aged 21, who was walking by herself towards the Raetihi township along Ohakune/Raetihi Road, was attacked. While walking on the bridge a short distance from the Raetihi township she was confronted by a male and dragged by knifepoint to his vehicle which was parked outside the cemetery on the Ohakune/ Raetihi Rd. She struggled and managed to escape, but received a minor injury as a result of this attack. The alleged offender is described as male half-caste Indian/Maori, about 30 years old with collar-length hair. His vehicle is described as a modern, dark-coloured station wagon. This vehicle was seen driving through the Raetihi township towards the Pipiriki Rd shortly after this alleged attack. Ohakune police have asked for infor-

mation detailing any sightings oihis vehicle in the Raetihi area during the early hours of Thursday morning, 22VIay.
