Half-day mornings
Whakapapa has modified their morning half-day ticket system this year, so anyone can decide to cash in their pass, before 12.30pm. Before, you could by a special pass — a few dollars dearer — if you were unsure whether you wanted to ski all day, then take the pass back for a credit before 12.30pm. Now, the same system applies but you will be able to take any day pass back. You get a voucher that you can use when purchasing a day pass later. The credit on an all-lifts adult day pass is $10, and for a youth's, is $5. So, if the weather looks uncertain you can still choose to ski for the moming and if it packs in, get something back.
