• On Wednesday a counterfeit $100 note was presented at a local inn for payment. The person presenting it was later located in Taumarunui and enquiries are continuing. • In general the roads were busy with only one crash occurring. This happened on Friday when a northbound vehicle lost control on ice on the Desert Road and crashed into a barrier. • On Sunday, police located a six-foot fibreglass dinghy on the side of the Desert Road. It appears this may have blown off a trailer. Enquiries are continuing to locate the owner.
