• There were two arrests during the week. The first was an Ohakune man arrested for assaulting his wife and the second was a Raetihi man arrested for assaulting his expartner. • There has been a further incident with counterfeit money. In the last incident a $100 note was involved. This time a $20 counterfeit note was handed to the police after being received locally. Enquiries are continuing. • On Friday evening a three year old girl was found wandering alone down Miro Street in the dark. Her parents were found about an hour later at their home still notaware their daughter was missing. Apparently the girl had wandered out while her parents were asleep. Police would like to thank those people who assisted in identifying the girl. • There were several burglaries. The rear window at a Raetihi supermarket was smashed last Monday night and in the early hours of Friday moming offenders removed the window pain at the same store. Entry was prevented on both occasions by the alarm. • Attempts were made to smash through a wall to get into an Ohakune clothing shop in Clyde Street at about 2.45am Friday moming. However, the alarm was activated. A white Honda motorcar was seen nearby at the time and police would appreciate any further information regarding this. • Ovemight Sunday 1 6 March a Honda Civic parked in Pitt Street was broken into and a number of cassette tapes stolen. Ovemight Wednesday a bus was also broken into and the radio cassette stolen. • There was a report of windows smashed at a Seddon Street building last Monday night. This appears to be the work of juveniles.
