Energy saving offer well received
King Country Energy reports that their energy saving products offer has been a huge success. King Country Energy' s marketing supervisor, Bruce Clow, said after announcing the offer recently there had been a tremendous response from householders. "Of the 300 packages available our staff have assessed over 300 homes and approved 229 packages for installation. Another 20 households are waiting to be assessed," said Mr Clow. "Those people who are still considering the offer need to be quick as there are only limited opportunities left," Mr Clow said. King Country Energy received $71,000 from the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority's Energy Saver Fund for this project. The offer consists of a hot water cylinder wrap, consumer adjustable thermostat, pipe insulation, and one energy efficient light bulb; or, the cylinder wrap or the thermostat, pipe insulation and one energy efficient bulb. The first option costs the customer $60 which is a saving of $290, while the second costs the customer $30. The offer, available to all King Country Energy 's domestic customers, provides a Substantial saving on energy efficient products and installation. Because not all products are suitable for all households, assessments are being carried out by Dennis Molloy, King Country Energy' s Turangi-based customer adviser. There is no charge for these assessments. "Once the project is completed, total annual savings ' should equate to thequantity of electricity normally used by over 30 houses," said Mr Clow.
