Stock sale prices good

A yarding of 8000 sheep was presented at last Thursday's Raetihi stock sale, with fairly buoyant prices reached. The sale compared well with other saies in the Wanganui and Manawatu regions. A small number of ram lambs from the Okahu Trust farm realised $45.20. The larger run Of drafted lamb stock from stations including Tawanui, Ohorea and Kuwau Farms fetched from between $34.10 to $41.50. Ram lambs reached $33 to $35.20, ewe lambs made between $32

and $42. There was a yard of 66 black faced lambs that went for $39. A large number of five and six year old ewes fetched $32.50 to $42.00. Two toothed Romney lambs saw prices range from $77 to $81. A number of two and a half year old steers sold for between $317 and $502. Ten sold for $ 1 60 to $220. Prices were stronger than this time last year, said the auctioneers, and compare well with other saies in the region.
