Ohakune School celebration part oi wheels week

Ohakune Primary School is taking part in this week's Carnival of Wheels event early, and at the same time celebrating the national "Celebration of Primary Schools". Yesterday (Monday) teachers and pupils set up shop window displays in town. Today the whole school are marching to town at 1 1 .00am and assembling in the carpark outside the BNZ-chemist where there will be singing and lots of items and parades from the children. Leading the parade will be bikes decorated by children. These bikes will be judged for prizes on Saturday. They march back to school at 12.30. If it is necessary to postpone this, it will be held on Friday 14 March. Wednesday 12 March is a picnic sports day at the school organised by Sport Wanganui. There will be a sausage sizzle and drinks available from 1 1am - 2pm. Sports start at 10am with a flag raising, fairplay charter, and a march past the flag pole. The day ends at 2.30 with prizes and certificates. Whole school involved plus the Kura Kaupapa, Orautoha and Ngamatea. It promises to be a fabulous fun family time. Also part of the celebration is an open day at school
