Waiouru • There were two arrests during the week. The first was a local woman arrested for assaulting her nine year old stepson. The second was a local man who was arrested on a warrant for failing to appear at an earlier court hearing. He came to light as a result of his driving when he pulled out onto the main road in front of a truck resulting in a collision. He was also processed for drinking and driving. • There was another crash on road works on the Desert Road when a car lost control in gravel, narrowly missed a road worker, and collided with a road sweeper. Waimarino • There were three arrests during the week. The first resulted from a Wellington man using a stolen credit card to obtain accommodation, the second was an Ohakune man arrested for disqualified driving and the third was a Waiouru man who was arrested for assaulting his female partner. • There were two other family domestic incidents attended that did not result in arrests. • A burglary was reported to a chalet in Totara Street with a television, microwave and couch being stolen. • On Wednesday night a red Toyota Starlet was stolen from outside the Ruapehu Hotel and was located back outside the hotel about an hour later. The offender was not located. • A water pump was reported stolen from a house in Miharo Street, Rangataua sometime over the past three weeks.
