Notice of Adjourned Council Meeting Notice is given that unfinished business from the Council meeting held on Friday 28 February 1 997 was held over and the meeting adjourned. The meeting is to recommence on Thursday 6 March 1997 at the Council Chambers, Huia Street, Taumarunui at 1pm. Special Order Ruapehu District Council Traffic Bylaw 1992 Amendment No. 1, 1997 Public notice is hereby given that at its meeting held on 28 February 1 997 the Council resolved by way of Special Order pursuant to Section 71 6B of the Local Government Act 1974 and Section 72 of the T ransport Act 1 992 to adopt an amendment to the Traffic Bylaw 1992. The Special Order will be submitted for a confirming resolution at the ordinary meeting of the Council to be held in the Council Chambers, Huia Street, Taumarunui on Thursday 27 March 1 997 commencing at 1 1 am. The purport of the Special Order resolution is to amend the T raffic Bylaw 1992 by adding the following clause to Part 3 - Miscellaneous: "6 The use, application or operation of braking devises of the "Jacobs Engine Brake" type or of any braking device which causes or creates a similar or excessive noise is prohibited within such areas of the Ruapehu District as the Ruapehu District Council shall determine from time to time by resolution." This amendment to the Bylaw shall come into force on 7 April 1997. A copy of the resolution to be confirmed is deposited at the Council offices and libraries in Taumarunui, Ohakune and Raetihi and is open for inspection by the public during the normal opening hours of those offices and libraries. Special Order Infrastructure Management Systems Loan 1997 - $600,000 Public notice is hereby given that at its meeting held on 28 February 1 997 the Council resolved by way of Special Order pursuant to Section 71 6B of the Local Government Act 1 974 and the Local Authorities Loans Act 1 956 to raise the above loan. The Special Order will be submitted for a confirming resolution at the ordinary meeting of the Council to be held in the Council Chambers, Huia Street, T aumarunui on Thursday 27 March 1997 commencing at 11am. The purport of the Special Order resolution is to develop Infrastructure Management Systems. A copy of the resolution to be confirmed is deposited at the Council offices and libraries in Taumarunui, Ohakune and Raetihi and is open for inspection by the public during the normal opening hours of those offices and libraries. Attention is drawn to Section 34A of the Local Authorities Loan Act 1956 which provides that
any person shall be entitled to sign a demand for a ppll of ratepayers if that person is enrolled on the ratepayer electoral roll or is a person whose name appears in the occupier column of the valuation roll. No demand for a poll of ratepayers under Section 34(2) of this Act shall be of any effect unless the number of valid signatures to the demand is equal to or greater than 15% of the number of the separately rateable properties on the valuation roll that are within the District. Every person who signs a demand for a poll of ratepayers underthis section shall state against the signature the person's name and the address in respect of which that person is entitled to sign the demand. Any demand must be delivered to the Ruapehu District Council Office at Huia Street, T aumarunui no later than 9am on Thursday 27 March 1 997. Special Order Ruapehu District Roading 1997 - $550,000 Public notice is hereby given that at its meeting held on 28 February 1 997 the Council resolved by way of Special Order pursuant to Section 71 6B of the Local Government Act 1 974 and the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956 to raise the above loan. The Special Order will be submitted for a confirming resolution at the ordinary meeting of the Council to be held in the Council Chambers, Huia Street, Taumarunui on Thursday 27 March 1997 commencing at 11am. The purport of the Special Order resolution is to raise a loan to complete roading works on the Raetihi Pipiriki Road.
