Raetihi School Gala
■i m " ■ :
The annual Raetihi School Gala is set to go again this Thursday afternoon from 4.30pm in the school grounds in Grey Street. The proceeds from the gala this year will help to purchase portable sunshades and erect more shady seating for the children in our increasingly hot
summer months. This is an extension of the schools general sun policy which encourages 'Sun Smart Practices' such as sun hats in the warmer weather. This year will see the children of the schools bilingual unit officially open the event. As usual there will be lots of community
involvement in the day with stalls and some great prizes available in the raffles, from a PW50 motor bike to groceries and 'mystery adventures'. Stalls include produce, crafts, cake and lollies and when hunger calls there is a hangi, BBQ and sausage sizzle to cater for all tastes.
Entertainment will see mini motor bikes, the Police Training Circuit, horse rides and more.
The school staff and pupils invite the whole area to their gala, not justthosewho have children at
the school. The general idea is
'the more the merrier'
