The Raetihi Collie Club held its 75th Jubilee dog trials last Friday 21 and Saturday 22 February in brilliant summer weather on the properties of Neil Wiggins and Gordon Chan on the Parapara Road. These two properties have been used for dog trials for the past 45-50 years. Four dog trial judges were invited from the South Island. They were Merv King and Bruce Westgarth from Pleasant Point and Howie Gardner and David McNab from Balclutha. To commemorate the jubilee silver trays were presented to each of the first place winners in the open event of each class. The number of entries were up on last year though there was some disappointment expressed on the numbers from within the Wanganui region.
