A new face on the beat

Constable Mark Lucas has recently transferred to the Waiouru Police Station saying he liked the idea of a smaller station and hoped that the experience would be useful for his future career. Having previously worked in Blenheim, Constable Lucas knows something of what to expect from working at an isolated station. A keen cyclist, he has competed in Police Service Championships in the past and has now turned to coaching. He was the centre coach for NelsonMarlborough District and will be going to Track Cycling Nationals to be held in Auckland in March. His wife, Paula, and their Waimarama dog have also joined him in Waiouru. Constable Lewis replaced Constable Eddie Baker to has moved to Dunedin.
