Waiouru benefits from Mid-Winter Rage
Two thousand dollars was presented to three local groups last Thursday night by the organisers of last year's Mid-Winter Rage, Mr Elaine Vine and Mr Peter Pitts. "The Rage is held for the benefit of the children in the community", said coordinator, Mr Steve Vine. The first cheque, made out for seven hundred and fifty dollars, was presented to Mr Marty Hantz, deputy principal of Waiouru Primary School, to assist with the purchase of new sporting equipment for the school. A similar amount had been
given to Rangi wai School last year, through the principal, Mr Stephen Snell, to set up teaching posts in the classrooms. Mrs Rachel Couchman, secretary of Victim Support Taihape- Waioum, receivedthe third cheque of five hundred dollars which she indicated would go towards ongoing worker training. Having successfully promoted the Rage in the cold months, the co-ordinators decided to extend the idea to the summertime and will host the inaugural mid-Summer Turn to page 2
