High standard of entries
The fine settled weather in the region appeared to have contributed greatly to the high standard of entries in the gardening and produce section at the Waimarino Show. Although the horticulture and produce section seems to be the main attraction in the hall, there is also a strong interest in arts and crafts, baking and preserves. Raetihi, Ohakune, and Orautoha schools all contributed with entries in the art section with Orautoha winning overall. There was a section on novelty arrangements and a high standard of quilting in the craft section. In the flower section the champion bloom was won by Carolyn McQuire with her rose entry entitled "Eleena", a pale lemon cream colour.
