Adorned graves
• Having read your article regarding adorning graves in the Raetihi Cemetery ( Bulletin , 4 February) I find it difficult to believe that it is causing "serious concern and dismay" to anyone in the Raetihi community. I have seen these adornments and don't find them offensive. They are part of the bereaved families' grieving process. Your article states that as time passes the graves are left so what harm has been done? Surely paper and plastic from flowers that are left on graves would cause problems also. Is the council going to ban flowers? I believe it is small mindedness by a few individuals and petty bureaucracy by the council. Let these families grieve in
peace!
