Review aims for accurate council work predictions

Critical to the re view of the Council' s activities, financing and funding, is the development of a fuller understanding of the condition and future maintenance and upgrading requirements of its assets, including the council' s sewage, water and roads systems, advises council chief executive Cliff Houston. Mr Houston said that over the next year council resources will be targeted at developing asset management plans for strategic council services and facilities. The asset management plans will provide an important documented reference on the council' s assets as are they are at present and their maintenance and upgrading requirements over a minimum of the next

10 years, he explained. Mr Houston said this knowledge would enable

the Ruapehu District Council to more accurately predict its future expenditure.
