Record spot check day for cancer society
The Waimarino Cancer Society reports an excellent response to their melanoma spot check day, held Saturday 25 January. A record number of people, 99, were seen by the two doctors who volunteered their time in three hours. Organisers expressed their gratitude to the doctors for their time and effort, to the business sponsors, and to the Ohakune Primary School for the use of their rooms. They also thanked patients for their patience — with such large numbers many had to wait for some time. They plan to make the event an annual one.
